Well folks, it's been fun.
|
I started QueueQ on a whim over three years ago and it never stopped surprising me. I set out with the goal to create an organization that would be a breath of fresh air for those frustrated by the hectic, frustrating, and inefficient pug games. What it grew into was so much more than that. QueueQ at it's peak was a near 24/7 operation with dozens of dedicated volunteer leaders and organizers that made this place thrive. Many of the people I met became good friends and some I will never forget. I sure have some good stories to tell that's for certain.
At that point I was content to be checking in on forums, new memberships, new leaders, etc every day. There was a point in my life where I had gone over a year without being "away" from the organization for more than 24 hours. Regrettably life happened, I lost interest in WoW, and I underestimated how important my presence was and things started slowly degrading far below the standard we fought so hard to maintain. I continuously thought about, and even made some attempts at rebooting, relaunching, and revitalizing the community but it was all too little too late.
I regret a lot of missed opportunities to turn this place into what I knew we were capable of. At the same time I marvel at what we accomplished. Those of you that volunteered as a leader or organizer, signed up for membership, or just participated in one of our thousands of wins I want to say a big "THANK YOU!" I will never forget the efficiency of a perfectly executed AV run, the thrill of a close fight, the late night shenanigans, the packed house on AV weekend, the constant puzzle of problem solving and maintaining an effective operation through patches, expansions, luls and booms. I know many won't see this but I want to pay special thanks to some people that helped get things started or kept things running long after I had disappeared:
Telindra
Zevia
Tygranthan
Sola
Kendrameda
Aussiemic
Emceehammer
Cazzi
Kaylinaa
Thorne
Hakaskry
This place and all of you helped lift me out of a bad time in my life in ways I can not describe. For that, anyone who ever participated has my sincerest and heartfelt thanks. Be good to people and if you get a good idea, make it happen.

Schedule Change
|
It looks like when the MoP patch 5.0.4 launched it changed the BG rotation structure significantly. Now in addition to having a BG weekend from Fri-Mon, there is ALSO a BG weekend from Tue-Thur. In implementing this change the cycle got reverted a week and it is now IoC weekend all over again!
Stay tuned for more details about QueueQ in Mists of Pandaria, AV weekend happens to fall right in a time where it may be very worthwhile to run level 85-89 premades.

IoC Weekend
|
Hey everyone,
It has been far too long. I apologize for not being more easily available for the last several weeks. I'll be working to get new memberships, cancels, and emails responded to in the following days preceding Isle of Conquest weekend.
I've been gone primarily because I haven't been playing WoW which makes it much more difficult for me to be involved in the community. I have been playing again for the last few weeks and intend to continue to do so through Mists of Pandaria, which is good news for the QueueQ organization. I've been waiting for a good opportunity to breathe some life back into the vent server and figure IoC weekend will be an excellent time to do it.
I will be online Thursday evening at 10pm PDT which precedes the beginning of the Battleground Weekend by 2 hours. For you old school folks you know that's when we typically hold leader meetings. In that time I will be answering inquiries and getting a handle on how many active and interested leaders we have. If you'd like to lead this weekend this would be a good opportunity to catch me online. Once the weekend switches over at 12am PDT I will lead as many games as I am able.
It should be an exciting few weeks because this will be the last IoC weekend of ALL of Cataclysm. Another exciting twist is that the last BG weekend of Cata will be AV. That's a big deal to me, and I'd liek to go out of this xpac as we came in.... pwning horde :)

2012 World of Warcraft Arena Pass Registration Now Open
|
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/4864395/2012_World_of_Warcraft_Arena_Pass_Registration_Now_Open-4_12_2012#blog
Now is the time to get your teammates together and register for the most thrilling Arena competition World of Warcraft has to offer.
Participants will be fighting their way through the ladder ranks, testing their mettle against the best Arena players in World of Warcraft. Players that register for the Arena Pass will also be eligible to earn Murkimus, the Armored Murloc in-game pet, as a reward for participating. The top 1000 teams will also earn the exclusive "Vanquisher”" title for their live characters, proclaiming their puissant skill in battle for all the realm to see.
Don't forget, players that participate in this year's World of Warcraft Arena Pass will also gain exclusive access to a level-90 Arena Pass realm after the account is upgraded to the Mists of Pandaria expansion.
If you have any questions or would like more details, please read the FAQ, and remember to check back here for more updates.
2012 Arena Pass: Phases
The 2012 Arena Pass is split into several different phases. To help you gain a better understanding of how this year’s Arena Pass will unfold, you can find an explanation of the different phases in this article.
Registration Phase
April 10 –May 22
During this period you can register for the North American 2012 Arena Pass Service. Registration will be closed outside of these dates.
Practice Phase
April 24 – May 8
During this period you will be able to enjoy the Arena Pass Realm and practice your setup with your friends. Matches played during this phase will not count towards the pet and title prizes.
Ranked Ladder Phase 1
May 8 – May 22
All Arena Rating points will be set to zero when this phase begins. Ranked 3v3 matches played during this phase will count towards the pet and title prizes. If a player switches from one Arena Team to another, the Arena Team that the player joins will have their Arena Rating reduced by 150 points.
Ranked Ladder Phase 2
May 22 – June 5
Ranked 3v3 matches played during this phase will count towards the pet and title prizes. During the Ranked Ladder Phase 2 of the Arena Pass Service, players cannot switch Arena Teams.
Prize Eligibility
Ranked 3v3 matches that count toward the pet and title prizes will start on May 8, 2012 (once the weekly maintenance has ended), and end June 5, 2012.
Please note that phases begin once weekly maintenance has finished on the dates specified, and end at the beginning of maintenance on the dates specified (unless stated otherwise).

Web Designer needed
|
QueueQ Premades is looking for a talented web designer to redesign our webpage. This would be a paid project. As such we would ideally be looking for someone with design experience and (hopefully) a portfolio OR someone very talented looking for a good start to their portfolio. This is not limited to only QueueQers so tell your friends. Experience in what we do helps. If interested contact me directly at qqpremades@gmail.com

Start of Season 9 means start of WAR GAMES!
|
Source: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/1597874
Summary: You'll be able to skirmish queue for BG's and arenas with specified preformed (server side) teams. This isn't hugely related to our premades but it's a step in the right direction. It show's that blizzard is listening to the PvP community and this has been something people have been asking about for a long time.

Cataclysm is here!
|
This coming Call to Arms is going to be a toss-up depending on how far along everyone is by this weekend. We should be doing a combination of the following:
Isle of Conquest Call to Arms (level 80-84 leveling bracket)
Isle of Conquest Call to Arms (level 85 honor grind)
Battle for Gilnaes (level 85 strat testing/honor grind)
Twin Peaks (level 85 strat testing/honor grind)
Come join us, no matter what we run it should be a good time playing with the new spells and abilities.

Realm Forums and Guilds
|
Realm forums are live, many will be "thinner" than others as populations vary quite substantially from Blackrock to Silver Hand for example. We have guilds up and running on Forstmourne, Kil'Jaeden, and Khaz'goroth. We will be introducing more and more QueueQ Premades guilds between now and Cataclysm and holding more server side events in addition to our regularly scheduled Call to Arms.
The intention of the realm forums is to get a specific area for discussion in place to facilitate the current development of server specific QueueQ activities and for future organization of rated bg teams regardless of guild involvement. Feel free to use them for anything server specific. Want to form a group to queue into WG? Schedule a For the Alliance run? New transfer and just want to introduce yourself? Thinking about moving to a new server and want more info? These forums would be a good place for these discussions.

Membership pricing change.
|
You may have noticed some changes to the membership donation link. The decision has been made to change membership to a monthly recurring subscription. This was the original intention of the membership structure but was put on hold in the beginning to establish credibility. After 14 months I think we've done that. It will also make things very convenient for the many of you who have donated several times over (and sometimes unexpectedly been expired without notice). This will no longer be an issue as the account will simply be deactivated upon the subscription cancellation.
It's understood that this change is a price increase as well as now requiring a Paypal account to manage the subscription. The potential for an overall reduction in TOTAL active members at any given point is a benefit and part of the reason this change was enacted. It potentially reduces the total number of members adding value (and reducing wait times) for existing members as well as making the "behind the scenes" management process much easier reducing the number of expired memberships that slip through the cracks adding to member wait times.
Any members that donated prior to this change will keep their original expiration date based on the date and level at which they donated. For example if you donated $25 on August 15th 2010 you will keep your membership as is until August 15, 2011 and then select from whatever membership options are available at the time.
I intend to implement a $25 option allowing for a 6 month membership duration prior to Alterac Valley weekend once I get the code for it worked out.
Any questions about memberships should be directed to me either via the forums or in Ventrilo directly. The forum discussion can be found here http://www.queueq.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=985 or I can be reached directly for inquiries at qqpremades@gmail.com

User Editor Rebuild
|
Hey everyone,
When the WoW servers go down for maintenance tonight I'll be taking the opportunity to do a server restart as well as a complete rebuild of our user editor. This is a pretty significant project and will take some time to complete.
What this means is all user privileges will be reset and all user profiles will be completely rebuilt. By the time the WoW servers come back online all GM's, leaders, and members who donated at the 1 year level should be reinstated. All other member user access will be restored gradually between Tuesday and the Eye of the Storm Call to Arms beginning October 15th.
It's very important to note that this means ALL EXPIRED MEMBERSHIPS that may have slipped through the cracks will be completely removed from the user editor. This may result in "invalid password" errors. If you were a member but get errors trying to log in AFTER Oct 15th stating "invalid password" simply remove your password from the server info and you should be able to log in as a guest.
*MOST* members trying to log in between Tuesday and the start of the Call to Arms will get errors trying to log in. Either create a new Ventrilo name or remove your password to be allowed access into the Ventrilo server until the rebuild is complete. Again, if you continue to get tehse errors it is likely your membership has expired. You can redonate using the same donate link on the front page, or if you do NOT believe your membership to have been expired post here http://www.queueq.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25
